Baños de Agua Santa, commonly referred to as Baños, is a town in central Ecuador and a major tourist center. It is known as the “Gateway to the Amazon”, as it the last big town still located in the mountains before reaching the jungle and other towns that are located in the Amazon River basin.
Around 60,000 visitors enjoy Baños de Agua Santa, for the longest holiday of the year: from the 2nd to the 6th of November each year, when El Dia de los difuntos ‘’Day of the dead’’ and independence of Cuenca Day is commemorated.
